Gary Milne
integrated communications
….known in the trade as an idea guy, Gary (he wanted us to refer to him as Milne, but we thought it was just too gangsta) is very good at drilling down into a problem and offering a solution that employs a variety of communication tools.
Bio: Gary started selling when he was 12. At 16 he ran an RV dealership in Calgary.
A frustrated musician, Gary found himself enrolled, with his drummer Murray Greives,
at SAIT's Television Stage and Radio Arts program.
After graduating with honors from SAIT, dismayed, Gary pursued a career in Radio, a journey which has included just about
everything that can be done in the industry from working as an on-air announcer to owning radio stations. 14 years of that journey was spent with Rogers Broadcasting Vancouver, during which time Gary launched and helped forge the success of one of Canada's biggest radio success stories, BEAT945.
Always compelled to learn more about his industry, Gary has become a well-schooled student of new media, mobile media and most recently television.
Gary's take on media planning? Handle with care!
Though he has a flair for connecting all of the dots, Gary's passion for media is obvious. Media, Gary will tell you, is a critical element in any overall communication strategy and must be treated as such.
Active with Big Brothers, Salvation Army and Scouting, Gary's spare time (and trust us, he doesn't get much) is spent enjoying his family, flying and his small zoo at home. (Okay, it's four dogs, three cats and a pig – but it's just about a zoo)
