Our Philosophy
Ah yes, the age old question, "Does advertising work?"
Of course advertising works! It just works different now, and for the next 20 years, until the next epic consumer shift in values comes along.
We started in the early 1980's.
Back then Vancouver was becoming the epicenter of a major advertising industry boom in Canada.
In those days our artists used paste-up boards, production studios recorded on reel-to-reel machines and copy was 'written' on a typewriter (preferably an electric one).
Times have changed, but the basic marketing mantras remain the same.
Stand out… Resonate with the consumer on an emotional level… Know who you are, not just what you do... Be outrageous… What's in it for the customer?.. Mean something...
We've heard some say that today advertising is about communications. Really? Wasn't it always about communications?
The only difference today is new technology, social media opportunities and a smarter consumer, mean the modern advertising communication model no longer requires us to scream at people like we use to.
Advertising isn't a statement anymore, today it's a conversation – a two-way dialogue that engages the consumer and earns rather than buys his or her business.
At its core, Elton Media is now and always has been about communications. So much so, communication is the over-arching principle that guides everything we do. You could say the simple art of communicating forms the basis of our company's mission.
So what is the Elton Media Mission?
- To develop distinct brands that are easy to recognize.
- To craft messages that are easy to understand.
- To create powerful tools to deliver those messages so consumers can easily relate and respond.
- To produce results for our clients.
